মোটরসাইকেলের চেইন পরিষ্কার করার ৫টি সহজ উপায়

মোটরসাইকেলের যেই অংশটি ব্যালেন্স রক্ষা করে বাইককে সামনের দিয়ে এগিয়ে নিয়ে যায়, তা হলো মোটরসাইকেলের চেইন। বাইকের সকল পার্টসের মধ্যে চেইনই একমাত্র বাইকের বাহিরের দিকে থাকে এবং সবসময় সচল থাকে। ফলে বাইককের চেইন নোংরাও হয় অনেক বেশি। অনেক সময় রাস্তা থেকে কোনো কিছু লেগে চেইনের ক্ষতিও হতে পারে। এজন্য উচিৎ নিয়মিত মোটরসাইকেলের চেইন পরিষ্কার রাখা।

মোটরসাইকেলের চেইন পরিষ্কার করা আসলে তেমন কঠিন কোনো কাজ না। প্রতি সপ্তাহে একবার বাইক পরিষ্কারের সময় যত্ন সহকারে এক ঘন্টা সময় দিলেই চেইনের সকল খুঁটি নাটি দেখা সহ চেইন পরিষ্কার করে ফেলা সম্ভব। এই সময়টা দেয়া জরুরি কারণ একটি অপরিষ্কার চেইন যেকোনো দুর্ঘটনা ঘটাতে পারে। যেমন চেইন স্লিপারি হয়ে খুলে চলে আসা, চেইনের স্প্রোকেট বাঁকিয়ে যাওয়া, চেইন ছিঁড়ে যাওয়া এমন নানা কিছু। আর এর সব কয়টিই রাস্তার মাঝে ঘটলে হতে পারে বড় রকমের দুর্ঘটনা। তাই জীবনের নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত এবং বাইকের গুণগত মান ধরে রাখার জন্য আমাদের উচিৎ নিয়মিত বাইকের চেইন পরিষ্কার রাখা। আজকের লেখায় আমরা সহজ ৫টি উপায়ে বাইকের চেইন পরিষ্কার করা শিখবো।

তার আগে আমাদের জেনে নেয়া দরকার মোটরসাইকেলের চেইন পরিষ্কার এবং চেক করার সময় আমাদের যে যে দিকগুলো খেয়াল রাখতে হবে-

চেইনের পিন শক্ত আছে কিনা;
চেইনের রোলারে কোনো মরিচা বা ফেঁটে যাওয়ার চিহ্ন আছে কিনা;
চেইনের লিঙ্কগুলো শুকিয়ে গিয়েছে কিনা বা নোংরা হয়ে আছে কিনা;
চেইনের লিঙ্কগুলো একটি আরেকটির উপর উঠে গিয়েছে কিনা বা এডজাস্টে কো্নো সমস্যা আছে কিনা;
চেইন ঢিলা হয়ে আছে কিনা;
স্প্রোকেটের দাঁতগুলো বাঁকিয়ে গিয়েছে বা ভেঙে গিয়েছে কিনা;
স্প্রোকেটের নাটগুলো ঢিলে হয়ে গিয়েছে কিনা;

মূলত মোটরসাইকেলের চেইন চেক করার সময় এই বিষয়গুলোই আমাদের খেয়াল রাখতে হবে। চেইন যদি ঢিলে হয়ে যায়, তাহলে আমাদের এডজাস্ট করে নিতে হবে। আর যদি ময়লা দেখা দেয় বা শুকিয়ে যায়, তাহলে আমরা পরিস্কারের ধাপগুলো অনুসরণ করবো।

চেইন পরিষ্কার করতে আমাদের যা যা লাগবে তা হলো-

এবার আসি চেইন পরিষ্কারের ধাপগুলো নিয়ে-

১. প্রস্তুতি নিন

চেইন পরিষ্কারের জন্য প্রয়োজনীয় সরঞ্জামাদি সব সংগ্রহ করুন। পরিষ্কারের জন্য লাগবে মোটরসাইকেল স্ট্যান্ড, যা বাইকটিকে সোজা রাখবে এবং পিছনের চাকা উঁচু করে রাখবে। ফলে সহজেই চেইন ঘুরিয়ে তা চেক করা যাবে। চেইন ব্রাশ যা ডাস্ট ক্লিনিং এর জন্য কাজে লাগবে। পরিষ্কার কাপড় যা দিয়ে চেইন ক্লিনার লাগাবেন চেইনের আগে। আর সব শেষে চেইন লুব্রিকেন্ট, যা দিয়ে চেইনের মসৃণতা নিয়ে আসা যাবে। এগুলো সংগ্রহ হলেই পরবর্তী ধাপে চলে যাবেন।

২. স্ট্যান্ডের উপর বাইক উঠান

চেইন পরিষ্কারের পরবর্তী ধাপ হলো স্ট্যান্ডের উপরে পিছনের চাকা উঠিয়ে দেয়া। এটি চেইনের পিছনের স্প্রোকেটের উপর বসাবেন। ফলে চেইন এবং চাকা দুটিই খুব সহজে ঘুরাতে পারবেন। পুরো চেইন ঘুরিয়ে দেখুন চেইনের গায়ে কোনো ডিফেক্ট চোখে পড়ছে কিনা। সেই সাথে শুকনো কাপড় দিয়ে চেইনটি একবার ভালো মতো মুছে নিন।

৩. ক্লিনার ব্যবহার করুন

চেইনের উপর ক্লিনারের হালকা স্প্রে ছিটান এবং শুকনো কাপড় দিয়ে মুছুন। এভাবে পুরো চেইনের উপর ক্লিনার ছিটাবেন এবং কাপড় দিয়ে মুছবেন। এর মাধ্যমে চেইনের গায়ে লেগে থাকা সকল ময়লা উঠে আসবে।

৪. পানি শুকিয়ে ফেলুন

ক্লিনার ব্যবহারের পরবর্তী ধাপ হলো চেইনের গায়ে লেগে থাকা সকল পানি শুকিয়ে ফেলা। তা না হলে লুব্রিকেন্ট লাগালে তা স্থায়ী হবে না। এ জন্য চেইন পরিষ্কার করার পর বাইকটি নিয়ে অল্প কিছু পথ চালিয়ে দেখতে পারেন। অথবা বাইকটি কিছুক্ষণ সামনে পিছে করতে পারেন যাতে অতিরিক্ত সকল পানি ঝড়ে পড়ে যায়। চেইন থেকে সকল পানি সরে গেলে লুব্রিকেন্ট লাগানোর জন্য প্রস্তুতি নিন।

৫. লুব্রিকেন্ট ব্যবহার করুন

লুব্রিকেন্ট ব্যবহারের জন্য বাইকটিকে আগের মতো স্ট্যান্ডের উপর উঠান। এবার চেইনের দুই অংশে লুব্রিকেন্ট স্প্রে করতে হবে। বাহিরের দিক এবং ভিতরের দিক। প্রথমে বাহিরের দিকে লুব্রিকেন্টের হালকা স্প্রে দিন। এতে বাহিরের সাইডপ্লেটগুলোর গায়ে লুব্রিকেন্ট লেগে যাবে। এভাবে একবার চেইন ঘুরিয়ে লুব্রিকেন্ট লাগান। এর পর চেইন এডজাস্ট করার জন্য ভিতরের সাইডপ্লেটগুলোর মাঝেও একইভাবে চেইন ঘুরিয়ে লুব্রিকেন্ট ব্যবহার করুন। এর ফলে চেইন বেশ স্মুথ হয়ে যাবে। খেয়াল রাখবেন, লুব্রিকেন্ট অতিরিক্ত দেয়া যাবে না। তাহলে বেশি ময়লা আটকাবে চেইনের গায়ে।

1. Get Ready
